The Diamond Jubilee may bring a welcome long weekend for families, but four-day bank holidays also see a surprise rise in certain insurance claims.
Insurer Aviva looked back at its claims data for the four-day break around last year's Royal Wedding and the four-day holiday for the Queen's Golden Jubilee 10 years ago and found that on both occasions, fire claims were up a fifth compared to the average level of claims.
