Homeowners and estate agents get new ‘dating’ website

From Property Talk Live on January 27, 2015

A new ‘dating’ website aimed specifically at matching UK homeowners and estate agents is now online at

It’s estimated that the UK now has around 800,000 available homes for sale or to rent at any given time and Place on the Market aims to make it easier for owners and estate agents to get together. “We believe the right relationship with your estate agent makes you happy,” says a spokesperson for Place on the Market. “And everyone needs a little happiness during moving home, one of the most stressful periods of your life.”

Place on the Market offers owners the ability to provide basic information about their home and upload photos for just £1. Estate agents can review and make proposals to market those homes and when a match is made the estate agent can download the property information and photo’s into their own systems or website. For estate agents the service is free.

“Choice is everything when you’re looking for the right estate agent, and we already have a database of over 6000 agents in the UK who are always looking for homes to market. Your ideal owner match could already be signed up and waiting for you to join!”

“Ten years ago, if you told someone that you’d choose your estate agent online, you would have been laughed at,” said the spokesperson. “But as the internet has become so much more a part of people’s lives, finding the ideal estate agent partner to market your home is crucial in achieving the best price you can for your home. Place on the Market is very efficient in that it is a simple way for homeowners to review numerous potential estate agent partners. In another ten years’ time we might all be asking not “How did you choose?” but “So what site did you use to choose?” And we’d like to think that a large proportion of the answers will be that they met their ideal estate agent partner on Place on the Market.”
